Here's a cool Japanese concept called Wabi-sabi:
"In traditional Japanese aesthetics, Wabi-sabi (侘寂) is a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete".
Characteristics of the wabi-sabi aesthetic include asymmetry, roughness, simplicity, economy, austerity, modesty, intimacy, and appreciation of the ingenuous integrity of natural objects and processes."
I feel like this applies really well to handmade items. Over the years I've run into people that expect handmade to be without imperfections and for each item to be an exact copy of the next. With what I do that is pretty much impossible. Please keep that in mind when purchasing handmade.
I create items I love – with love – and I want to share them with the world because I believe they are worthy, and they will make someone’s life better, brighter, easier, and happier.
My jewelry, in association with The Artisan Group, was displayed and gifted at the GBK's 2018 Celebrity Gift Lounge Honoring the Golden Globes and at the 2016 GBK Golden Globes Gift Lounge and given to the press at the MTV movie awards in 2014 and 2015.
One of my necklaces was also worn in the C.W. television show Arrow.
All of my items are little works of art so please treat them accordingly. This means no wearing while swimming, showering, working out, surfing, spraying perfume, etc. Thanks!
